Car accidents suck...

Nasty car wreck yesterday. Lug bolts on the front driver's side wheel sheared off during a turn at highway speeds. The wheel came off completely--I hunted for half an hour and never found it:/

Somehow the car managed not to roll when the wheel came off. And somehow I managed to get a 3-wheeled car under control and dodge the truck in the oncoming lane.

On the plus side, I wasn't hurt. Stiff and sore with a rolled ankle, but that's almost undoubtedly from scrambling around in the woods looking for the wheel.

Now I just get to wait and find out how much repairs are going to cost...

School starts tomorrow.

...Well, at least for me it does.

I'm taking a condensed Algebra course, and hoping to start full-time classes in January.

Weird going back to school...

Rays win AL Wild Card!

In a complete stunner tonight, the Rays overcame a 7-run deficit to win on Evan Longoria's walk-off home run in the bottom of the 12th inning...mere moments after the in-stadium scoreboard announced that the Baltimore Orioles had managed an equally-stunning comeback over the Boston Red Sox, and that Tampa Bay could clinch the playoff berth with a win over the Yankees.

Tampa Bay will now travel to Arlington to face the Texas Rangers in the ALDS. Hopefully they will fare better than last season, when the Rangers beat them out in Game 5.

Grrrrrr....

Turns out that "Yes! That will definitely meet our application requirements!" really meant "No, it doesn't. And there were a half-dozen other requirements anyway..."

So long story short, I am in Tampa and have no apartment. Hopefully I can get something else worked out within the next 2 days...or I'm looking at having to go back to Arkansas...

iBear is moving!

...Again.

That's right, loyal reader(s)! Your (my?) beloved iBear is breaking free of the confining shackles of the Bible Belt and returning to the Sunshine State: wonderful land of white-sand beaches, shimmering seashells, frolicking dolphins, and...oranges, I guess.

Tune in next weekend for a beautiful essay about how much more I enjoy Florida than I did Arkansas!

Tune in about two weeks later for my complaints about how high the rent is...

Kidding! ;D

iBear is not dead!

...Not yet, anyway.

But neither has he moved back to Florida. If my readers (assuming I still have those...) would be kind enough to send angry letters to the IRS regarding my Financial Aid paperwork, I would be exceptionally grateful.

So anyway, tonight I have hit upon the holy trinity of blogging: internet connectivity, boredom, and insomnia.

Check out my other blogs...I'll be there soon:P

iBear is moving...again.

Going back to Florida to start school.

Moving day is next weekend...stay tuned:)

Dude...

I bought Assassin's Creed this weekend.

And I really want to write a review that's more comprehensive than just saying "Dude!" while I drool all over the keyboard...

This was, without a doubt, the best video game I have ever (yet) played. The graphics were stunning. The storyline was interesting and immersive, topped off with some top-notch voice-acting...they really did get Kristen Bell for a main character. Some of the plot twists were maybe a touch predictable, but I blame myself for being smart enough to know that something like this was coming and looking ahead for what it was; the writers deserve a lot of credit for plot twists that made sense instead of feeling contrived.

And the gameplay was world-changing.

I had heard all this before in reviews: Assassin's Creed was supposed to be the next generation of video game. And now that I've seen it and played it, it was not overhyped. This game was jaw-droppingly gorgeous.

And I hear the next one was even better...

This is rapidly becoming "not funny"...

So in my last entry, I mentioned that if things at work get any worse I will quit in a second.

Guess what...

I hit a deer on the way to work last Sunday. My car repairs are going to cost 2-3 times what I've made at work so far.

And I'm sick. And not like "I'm going to take it easy tonight and I'll see you at work tomorrow" sick. I'm talking about "I think I'm going to die...and I'm not convinced that's a bad thing" sick. In order to keep my lousy, miserable, underpaying job I went to a clinic to see a doctor...who diagnosed me with "some kind of infection" and gave me a steroid shot and a prescription for antibiotics. And tomorrow night I get to work the graveyard shift.

Joy.

And on top of all this, I'm really getting sick of Jonesboro, Arkansas. The weather is lousy, the drivers are brainless, and I never hit a deer driving down to Clearwater Beach. Check out my Exmo blog if you want even more details.

The only left to happen is for me to get robbed tomorrow night.

Grrrrrrr...

Been awhile, I know. Little time, not feeling like doing anything, and sporadic internet are all valid reasons, I guess.

I started a job a little more than two weeks ago...and it sucks. If I weren't in such desperate need of a regular income, there have been four or five specific things that would've been the last straw. As it stands now I find myself at an uneasy truce with myself: I need a paycheck coming in, but if this gets any worse I'll drop it in a second and just look elsewhere.

So that's why I haven't been updating my blog. I'm at work a lot, and when I'm not at work I only feel like eating, sleeping, and taking a long hot bath with a toaster. On top of that, I don't have internet access right now, so I can only get online when my father is over here and not using his phone...and that adds up to about an hour a week.

So thanks to everyone for your patience, and for the love of god send me some if you have any extra!
